The online First Aid for Dogs course is suitable for pet professionals and owners alike.

The course consists of 6 modules which take an average of 1 hour to complete. However, the online provision gives students the opportunity to pick up from where they left off so that they can learn at their own pace and convenience. The course has video demonstrations, PDF downloads, and self-assessment tasks. An accredited certificate can be downloaded after completion.

The emphasis is on helping to preserve life and promote recovery whilst waiting for veterinary attention – not to replace it! The course is now fully accredited and approved by Continuing Professional Development Standards, which means it has been externally assessed, meeting the high standard set by this nationally recognised body.

Student Benefits

By the end of the course the learner should be able to:

  • Recognise a range of first aid situations.
  • Be able to carry out a safe assessment of the animal.
  • Be able to respond to a range of first aid situations.
  • Have the confidence to carry out basic first aid treatments whilst waiting for veterinary attention.

  • For all first aid cases, a veterinary surgeon should be contacted as soon as possible.

Vendor Requirements

You’ll need a few things before you get started:

  • A Stripe account. We use Stripe to accept payments on our website, meaning customers can pay securely using credit or debit cards. Once you link your Stripe account to your vendor profile you’ll automatically receive your commission after every order. Best of all, we’ll pay any Stripe fees.
  • An email address. You will need a dedicated email address to link to your profile, where you will receive notifications of each order and messages from students.
  • A vendor manager. We recommend designating the role of vendor manager to one of your staff. This one person may keep the profile up-to-date, check orders, create coupons and contact us if any help is needed. This makes it less confusing for more than one member of staff, your students and us.
  • Accept our terms and conditions. By becoming a vendor you accept our terms and conditions which can be found on page 5.
  • Review your own terms and conditions. As you will be offering our course to your own subscribers/ students/carers you may wish to add to your own terms and conditions, or copy and edit some clauses from ours.

Your students will enrol on your branded course through your unique link to our website. It is entirely up to you as a vendor to ensure students enrol to your particular course. We cannot be held responsible for any of your students enrolling on the readily available Pet Eduction and Training First Aid for Dogs course.

As part of the vendor programme we will treat your branded course as our own and aid any students who need help with the course. The course tutor Caroline Clark will help with any course material that is not understood and our administrator Tommy Taylor will help students with any technical questions they may have.
